There was no "Tuesday JS" update this week because I got interested in ASCII ART and couldn't find an editor with the functionality I needed, so I decided to make my own.

"ASCII Art Paint" editor for browser and open source will be available very soon.



In one program, you can use the functions of a bitmap to ASCII converter and a graphic editor (like a pencil, eraser, fill, pipette) so that you can modify the resulting image. Or you can just place the image behind the canvas to use as a template. Supports drag and drop interface to open a file.



Possibility to change the character palette as you wish, you can enter the desired characters using the keyboard or select them from the table.



A tool for quick input / output of text art, you can also edit images in it like in a regular text editor. The editor works with regular .txt text files and does not use custom formats.


I also want to recommend the site https://ascii.co.uk/art which has a large collection of ascii graphics.

This application will help you make your posts memorable and surprise your audience with unusual old school art.

Ooh, I'm interested.  I currently use JavE editor but it has gone without an update for over a decade, and I'm interested in trying out a more modern tool.
